There is still not a medical explanation

Christmas was a hard day for us, but unlike other long breaks; this past time off was not as hard as some of the others. I don't completely know why, but here are some things that have been interesting as of lately.

As the week went on, it felt like there were longer periods or respite from the self-injury. Grant has basically stopped attacking me. His chin was healing until the day he went back to school.

The MRI, blood tests and urine samples had no interesting information AKA negative. The dentist visit was challenging and not only did he not get his teeth cleaned, but he said it all looks fine (despite the immense amount of tartar build up).

His hand is fully healed from when it was broken. He is preferring to wear his helmet and gloves less than he has recently. Of course, that means he can disrobe easily! And he likes to sweep everything off the table. I promptly took down the tree and our home is growing in simplicity. So much has broken. I tell myself "it's just stuff".

Trips out of the home can be very hard, but Grant seems like he is in a better mood most of the time. Especially if we are home and don't have company. Having company over is not good if there is more than 2 or so. He can't handle adult chatter, especially when people break into smaller conversations. I am imagining it over loads him or simply takes too much attn away from him.

Grant has grown very attached to a large scale Mickey Mouse that is wearing a santa outfit in the last 2 weeks. It has to go everywhere. He makes a panicked sound when he doesn't know where he is. We take him the store, bathroom and up and down the different levels of the home. This is real.

Happiness is Mickey, playing with daddy, watching his Ipad (videos of school busses mostly), and running back and forth.

School/teacher is reporting an increase in behaviors. Especially aggression. I don't understand. It sounds like he has traded attacking me for others. It just makes zero sense.
